Hey everyone! It's been a long time coming since the last GameDev post. Largely because I'd been preparing for very important UK exams coming up this Summer. But... They've finished! I have finished all of those damn exams! So the wait for Nytwalk's production to be back up and running is now over.
However that's not to say that my artists haven't been busy whilst I was revising. Looking at their Instagram and Twitter pages to me is on par with settling down with a cup of tea and reading a book. (Honestly I could spend hours just doing so.) Some of my artists have been busy perfecting characters that you guys have never seen before. Remember "Jerry"? The pixie we'd mentioned in the last blog post? After some revamping and character changes- we're introducing Nyn. Drawn my @Mauva4 (Instagram and Twitter). Here, grab a gander at him in this speed paint that was made of him on the SwitchGameDev Youtube Channel. We'll discuss his character, alongside those of others' in the next post.

It's my brother's birthday today :).
But Nytwalk is also beginning to celebrate a birthday of sorts as it's approaching it's cut off point for a Demo! You'll be able to dive into your own imagination and see all the crazy things you wish, or fear were real... You'll be joining Coredlia and the unnamed boy up till they make the transition into the next world, and hopefully you'll enjoy it, however in preparation for the release of this demo, the team is going to need a HUGE marketing boost, so if you guys can kindly spread the word of us, that would honestly be great. So for the "next world" I'd set up a poll on Twitter to establish what kind of environment would be the most creepy for you and the majority of those who voted said that the abandoned warehouse could definitely give them thrills. That's not to say that other options and worlds won't come into play later, I've already written up some concept art for members of the candy kingdom... The kingdom overrun by brainless and demoralised... Zombies basically. So I've left a poll here for you guys to have your say, and feel free to share and comment. Especially comment, because you guys sometimes have the best qualitative words that really help with ideas and game developing. Even Jerry is speedily coming underway. Speaking of Jerry, a bunch more assets are going to be coming in to accommodate the second arc or section of the visual novel, so be prepared to see those sometimes this week. I can see Nytwalk having 3 endings, and two of them will not end nicely. The demo will not have an ending at all but you will be able to get a taste of the game. I won't tell you the mechanism by which you can get a "good ending", hopefully you'll find it out yourself ;).
Which new theme would you like the second world of Nytwalk to be?
Good morning everyone :)
Morning you ask? It's because I'm still recovering from the ending of a particularly stressful book that I finally finished a few hours ago after I let myself some downtime to escape from my responsibilities. Don't mind me as I pick up he pieces of my shattered mind and cry for being born on earth :). But nevermind me, Nytwalk has fantastic news as - yes - I HAVE actually been working steadfastly on it's development and marketing. I must say Instagram squad is thriving. NYTWALK HAS A SPONSOR! Yes that is right my brethren, Nytwalk has a sponsor :). A cool guy who goes by the name of Connor Linning and has generously given us a plentiful supply of royalty free music, so if you want to check out examples of the tunes that you're going to hear in the game, (and in related works such as Youtube videos) Why don't you go and take an early sneak peak at his Bancamp profile? At: https://connorortlinning.bandcamp.com/. And also, this crazy talented individual is in the midst of created an almost equally as crazy amazing RPG game called "Towards the Pantheon" So why don't you check out it's progress on it's twitter page that frequently posts updates (http://towardsthepantheon.tumblr.com/)? Or even visit: www.towardsthepantheon.com yourself? Honestly I'm really looking forward to it's release. Here are a few screenshots from the game: |
