It's my brother's birthday today :).
But Nytwalk is also beginning to celebrate a birthday of sorts as it's approaching it's cut off point for a Demo! You'll be able to dive into your own imagination and see all the crazy things you wish, or fear were real... You'll be joining Coredlia and the unnamed boy up till they make the transition into the next world, and hopefully you'll enjoy it, however in preparation for the release of this demo, the team is going to need a HUGE marketing boost, so if you guys can kindly spread the word of us, that would honestly be great. So for the "next world" I'd set up a poll on Twitter to establish what kind of environment would be the most creepy for you and the majority of those who voted said that the abandoned warehouse could definitely give them thrills. That's not to say that other options and worlds won't come into play later, I've already written up some concept art for members of the candy kingdom... The kingdom overrun by brainless and demoralised... Zombies basically. So I've left a poll here for you guys to have your say, and feel free to share and comment. Especially comment, because you guys sometimes have the best qualitative words that really help with ideas and game developing. Even Jerry is speedily coming underway. Speaking of Jerry, a bunch more assets are going to be coming in to accommodate the second arc or section of the visual novel, so be prepared to see those sometimes this week. I can see Nytwalk having 3 endings, and two of them will not end nicely. The demo will not have an ending at all but you will be able to get a taste of the game. I won't tell you the mechanism by which you can get a "good ending", hopefully you'll find it out yourself ;).
Which new theme would you like the second world of Nytwalk to be?
Have you ever seen a visual novel with so much art from so many different artists? And also in so many art styles? Me neither, which is why Nytwalk is such an artistic amalgamation of different background and character art. Honestly, when I receive work in from my artists and musicians I literally fangirl for a good five minutes each. It's amazing when I get a bunch in in a condensed time period.
And the music- oh the music. Someone EVEN TRY and tell me that Connor's music is not the most peaceful and relaxing set of notes I've ever heard? Sareena? Naledi Mkhonto? Guys you're amazing. Music brings me onto the topic of what I've done since I last gave a devlog. I've installed a bunch of music and tweaked a few minor details in the CTC (Click-to-Continue) button so it was properly aligned with the font. I am looking forward so much to the demo release of this game. Right now, the narrator is finally inside the house and either today or tomorrow they will meet Cordelia for the first time. Let's see how you guys get on ;). Until next time, A very tired Switch.
