Above is just a little note to all from one of my cherubs, Mauva. I'd like to echo her kind words. Good luck to everyone this exam season! Study hard, and if you're an artist of mine, don't sweat too much. We have lots of time. We'll make up for it each time we take a break. But this exam season try your best. Strive for success. Today I was told by one of my artists that they achieved a VERY IMPRESSIVE grade in their finals exams, honestly I am so proud of all of you for shining so much, you are all so talented! IMAGINE SUCCESS AS RETRIBUTION TO SWITCH FOR SLAVING YOU THESE PAST FEW WEEKS. Here, be inspired by this quote from a philosophical person who I don't know. (Honestly, I try not to stress you guys, I'm sorry). Following on from Mauva's comment- I am thinking of making some sort of social media where my close team and I can actually talk TOGETHER, as a team. Of course I'll need permission from each member individually to include them in this sort of scheme, so at the moment it's just a thought. It may however encourage partnerships between everyone and encourage a sense of unity, as my close team are the people making this happen. As well as you guys. I really do appreciate you guys. Either way I appreciate and cherish you all both, and I know you've heard this before but it's the TRUTH. I missed something out right here... No idea what it was but it must have deleted when I forgot to save this post before... Grr. I'll remember soon enough. Back to business.
Now that I think about it- no one wants to hear about the unproductivity of the person who they're devoting their unwavering time and effort to. Especially if they're not fulfilling their end of the bargain. You've heard this all before. However, I can assure you today has not been fruitless. I can also tell you from here that this could be a potentially long blog post. Today the weight of the project bore down on me very hard. I realised I had a lot I wanted to incorporate into the game. I wanted it to be different. I wanted it to be worth your time, and at the mere mention of "time" I collapsed in a desperate cry for help. Sometimes I ask myself whether this whole project is really worth it. I ask myself whether the artists and people I am getting so close to will still be here and contributing in a year's time. Everyone get's bored of things, but my artists have the freedom to move on whilst I struggle with their absence. No, this is not me guilt tripping you into devoting your entire life to me, haha. It was a serious thought though that I asked myself, and it slightly put me down a bit when I confronted myself with the answer. However I'm not one to dwell on things that upset me, so I move on. Nonetheless. People depending on me. Must be worth their time- so I take a quick nap, and hope for the best when I wake up. When I do wake up- after I've freshened up a bit, I start on a little research. Little assets and bits of code to make our game stand out and I find loads of cool tidbits of information. I implement a "Rain and thunder" effect into the code, which I'm sure will go well with the lake scene that Erisma is contributing. Slowly and surely everything is coming together. I just need to make sure I stay on top of it all and actually create a story. Now onto image maps. This game. Is going to need. A lot. Of image maps. An image map is basically what you think it is. It is an image that is "mapped" so that different sections of the image can be virtually "clicked" and you can thereby access different... pages? Due to hyperlinks associated with the region you clicked in. They are key features in designing UI. (User interface/ Interaction) To put it into a more concise form, here is a definition I found on the internet: "In HTML and XHTML, an image map is a list of coordinates relating to a specific image, created in order to hyperlink areas of the image to different destinations (as opposed to a normal image link, in which the entire area of the image links to a single destination)." If you're dying to know what I mean when I say I'm going to need image maps and why, this is what I am looking to create: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=14237 You see, right now, I'm not sure whether I have my priorities straight. Should I be designing before I write, or writing before I design? Certainly, writing influences design in a less constricted manner than vice versa, however by designing first aren't I ensuring I have a steady template before I begin to fill it in? Which is more important- a well defined structure, or creativity? Let me write that down. It's decided. For the rest of exam season I'll do some light work. That is- storyboard planning, until exam season is over. No issuing anymore new assets out either. Finally, before I go- I'd like to say that I've about 89% recovered from being ill. My immune system was probably down with the amount of stress I put on myself and what I was challenging myself to do in so little time. I was thinking of taking on another project. Moral of the story is- stretch, but don't stretch out of reach. Because you may fall and have to start again. Or you may just pull a muscle. My attempt at trying to be philosophical. All jokes aside, I am recovering so thank you all for your well wishes. I'm getting on my feet so I can give back to you what you gave to me. Until next time, Switch. Currently working on:

( I was a bit surprised seeing my comment up there haha ). I agree, It would be great to have a place where we could all talk and learn more about each other. So that we can be a real team! Thank you for that quote! It gave me strength to keep going. n_n and so you should. Just think about the time being. We never know what the future is hiding from us.

Thank you for your kind comments, haha, I believed it deserved to be shared. I've made a "social" page which I hope will work as some small means of communication between some people, but it's by far the social media usdd for my close team.

Wow, a social media thing sounds pretty cool! It'd be nice to talk to the people who I'd be working on the game with ^_^ Glad you're 89% better! Hope it turns into 10% soon ;) Keep up the good work! Oh! And if you still feel down about the whole "Will my team still be there for me" thing, remember! You got my email for a reason! Feel free to email me anytime cuz I'm part of your close team! I signed up to help even though you didn't say how long this long term project would take! By signing up, I made a commitment! So don't worry! It doesn't matter how long the project takes, I'll try to help out the best I can! (Not sure if that whole paragraph even made sense but I'm hoping you got the gist) Things'll turn out well! I can just feel it!~ ^_^
